1. Who are you and what do you do? Corporate Impact Inc. is a business computing and networking company operating throughout the Halifax Regional Municipality in Nova Scotia. Well sell computer consulting services (you know, the "computer guy") as well as computers, peripherals, and software. As we say, if it's a computer, or if it goes on, in, or near a computer, we probably sell it! Corporate Impact also operates Spring Day Music, a music division that publishes music (including the extremely popular Easy Music Theory course), and writes corporate music and jingles. Call us at 902-830-3994 for details. 2. What is a computer network? A computer network (also called a local area network, or LAN) connects two or more computers together by means of a network wire. The network wire plugs into network cards installed in each computer. Each computer can "see" the resources of other computers on the network. So, in addition to a computer's own files, printer, etc., it can access the files and devices (such as printers) of other computers on the network. 3. Why do I need my business networked? Efficiency and dependability of your business computing resources. If you're networked, you can do most operations from any computer, storing your files in a central location. Many computers can share printers, giving flexibility at decreased cost. And computer backups are a snap on a network. Bottom line: a computer network not only means greater productivity; it's a measure of business security you can't afford to be without. 4. What do I do about my OLD computers?
