Well, it's over:
It's 2 o'clock in the afternoon, and three blocks away, a car hits a pole. The power cuts out, just as you click to save your document.

In the unit attached to your building, an air conditioner goes faulty. The lights brown out for one second.

It's been raining all day. Suddenly, without warning, the lights flicker so fast you aren't even sure it's happened. But you know something has happened, because your computer just crashed, and when you restart, you get a black screen with "Invalid system disk" in white letters.

Those are just three real scenarios out of many that go on every day in the computer world.

It's about your DATA
You've got data on your computer. Valuable data. I'm not talking about your Windows files. I'm talking about Simply Accounting, QuickBooks, brochures, graphics, presentations, letters, contacts, emails, spreadsheets, inventory - all the documents you've likely spent thousands of hours creating.

If your computer is plugged directly into a wall outlet or a power bar it's not enough! You need an uninterruptible power supply, also known as a UPS.

Why a UPS? Simply because if your computer is in the process of putting data on your disk at the time of a power failure of any length (even milliseconds), it can mean the end of all your data. Power failures are prime reasons for data corruption on hard disks.

This is not some hype to sell gadgets. It's a real scenario that happens in real offices to real world computers. And of course you are backing up your data regularly, right? No? Than call us right now for data backup solutions, at 902-830-3994. This is really important.

Your data is important.
How important? As important as this: Say you come to work tomorrow and someone tells you that your accounting books are gone. Or, your big PowerPoint presentation is corrupt. Not retrievable in any way. Will your business continue normally? Likely not.

Do not risk your valuable data. Make sure that your computer is protected by a UPS. You can get a Mustek 400 VA Plus UPS from Corporate Impact for only $85 (CDN plus optional installation). It will probably be the best $85 you've ever spent on your computer!

About the UPS
What exactly is a UPS? Take a look at the photo to the right. That black box is a UPS. On the back panel are two outlets that look like wall outlets. Plug your PC power cord into one, and plug your monitor into the other. Then plug the UPS into the wall outlet. The wall power charges up a battery inside the UPS, and the UPS now provides power to your computer and monitor. If the wall power fails, it doesn't matter, because your PC continues to operate on the battery in the UPS without a hint of a glitch! It even comes with software that automatically senses that the wall power has died, and after a few minutes performs a nice orderly shutdown of your computer, so that no data is lost. Perfect.

How long does the battery last in a power failure? Usually several minutes - enough time to perform an orderly shutdown (manually or automatic). But of course the best protection is the complete isolation it provides in the case of spikes, surges, and brownouts.

Low-Cost Insurance for your PC
A UPS is so inexpensive, and protects your computer so well, you need one on every PC you own. It's the ultimate insurance for your PC. Everyone understands the value of insurance after the house burns down. Why wait and be sorry?
